When Rohana plays with the full orchestra you can usually spot her at the front left of the stage with fellow violinists.
‘Being in a smaller orchestra is very rewarding and the TSO is full of great people – it’s like a big family.’
Rohana joined the TSO in 2009 and has worked with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
After completing her honours degree at the University of Melbourne, she studied at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM).
In 2008 Rohana was a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellowship program.
The following year she travelled to Salzburg, Austria to participate in Mozarteum University’s International Summer Academy.
During her studies, Rohana toured Europe with the Australian Youth Orchestra and was twice a finalist in the Hephzibah Menuhin Memorial Awards.
Recent career highlights: performing with guest TSO musicians Pekka Kuusisto and Henning Kraggerud, travelling to Perth to perform Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet with the Australian Ballet, and performing as soloist in Schnittke’s Moz-art à la Haydn.
