When Miranda plays with the full orchestra you can usually spot her at the front left of the stage with fellow violinists.
‘Dressing up is my pre-concert ritual – it’s a creative outlet for me and also gets me in the right frame of mind to perform on stage.’
Originally from Brisbane, Miranda joined the TSO in 2007 straight after finishing her university studies.
She performs regularly at Mona as part of the 4PM live art installation, sight reading quartets by composer Dean Stevenson – written just hours before.
Miranda loves the variety that comes with being part of the TSO – playing everything from big symphonies to intimate chamber concerts.
Known for her killer heels and impeccable outfits, Miranda is also famous among her colleagues for baking delectable rehearsal snacks. ‘I’m not naturally a good baker and my oven is a bit broken, but I just follow the recipe and hope for the best.'
