When Jennifer plays with the full orchestra you can usually spot her at the front left of the stage with fellow violinists.
‘With our chamber music concerts, the audience is up close to the musicians and mingles with them afterwards – it’s a much more intimate experience.’
Jenny first took up the role of Principal First Violin of the TSO in the 1990s and again in 2015.
In between, she spent 16 years as Principal Second Violin of the Houston Symphony in the US.
Chamber music has been a strong feature of her career, both in Australia and the US.
In 2017 Jenny became Music Director of Virtuosi Tasmania, which was founded by the late Steve Martin.
Jenny is the co-curator of our Music at Woolmers and Music at the Hedberg series, a role that brings her a lot of joy.
She also plays baroque violin, performing with the Dallas Bach Society, and Van Diemen’s Band.
Jenny plays a 1770 Nicolo Gagliano violin, which she describes as 'magnificent’.
