When Eloise plays with the full orchestra you can usually spot her in the middle of the stage with fellow woodwind musicians.
‘I love working with such a great group of people every day and then getting together for a run or dinner or a TSO book club meet-up.’
Eloise took on the joint role of Tutti Clarinet and Principal Bass Clarinet with the TSO in 2020.
She has won international prizes including at the Beijing International Music Competition, the Australian Music Foundation in London and the UFAM (Union of Female Musician Artists) international competition in Paris.
After her undergraduate studies at the Australian National University in Canberra, Eloise was awarded a scholarship from the French government to study with Philippe Cuper at the Versaille Conservatory, graduating with the highest possible distinction.
She completed masters and doctoral degrees at The Juilliard School in New York, where she was awarded the Richard F. French Doctoral Prize.
Eloise has won several medals at the Australian Masters Athletics Championships. She's also encouraged a number of other orchestra players to take up cross-country running.
While at university, Eloise briefly learned violin from former TSO Concertmaster Barbara Gilby. ‘We both agreed I should stick to clarinet!’.
Ideally a nap.
