NEWS FOR TEACHERS!
TSO presents Professional Learning Workshops for Teachers of  Primary Music with the Tasmanian Department of Education

Di O’Toole will lead workshops to introduce teachers to a number of new resources, with a focus on orchestral music, that have been developed under the auspices of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Education Program. Practising Tasmanian teachers were commissioned to write resources for their colleagues, both within the state and further afield.  The free resources are concept-based and explore musical ideas through age-appropriate activities in singing, playing, moving, listening, commenting and creating, and align with the Music National Curriculum.

PAST CONCERT Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants

PAST CONCERT Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants

If you think that losing a sock in the wash is a big deal, spare a thought for poor King Colin who has lost his golden underpants, the source of all his power. A king without power (and a cold bottom) is not a good thing, so six-year-old Sir Scallywag and his loyal steed Doofus are summoned to put things right.

Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants, by award-winning children’s author Giles Andreae, comes to life in a concert that combines music, storytelling and projected images. Music educator and composer Paul Rissmann narrates this tale of courage and determination. Will Sir Scallywag survive his quixotic quest? Will King Colin be reunited with the royal undergarment? Come along and find out but be warned: concert includes audience participation!
