Livestream Event | Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto

Thursday 4 Jun 2026 6pm
The Makers Technology and Innovation Hub, Parklands

Carwithen Overture ODTAA (One Damn Thing After Another)
Vaughan Williams Concerto for Bass Tuba in F minor
Haydn Symphony No 100 in G, ‘Military’

The tuba doesn’t usually get a chance to play a starring role, but in this concert, soloist Rachel Kelly will show just how beautiful the biggest brass instrument can be.

In collaboration with the University of Tasmania’s Burnie campus, we’re bringing you a series of livestreamed concerts. It’s an accessible, relaxed way to experience the orchestra.

Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto is part of our 6pm Series – hour-long concerts packed with interesting music and soloists, with banter and insights from host and TSO musician Will Newbery.
