We love it when music fans come together to commission new Australian music.
That’s why we’re excited to launch the TSO Law Commissioning Circle – an idea sparked by a group of music loving legal professionals.
The initiative brings together members of the legal community right across the state to support the creation of new musical works and ensure an ever-evolving musical landscape in Tasmania and Australia.
We cannot wait to hear and see the musical compositions, performances and other creative opportunities that rise from this collaborative project.
The TSO Law Commissioning Circle was officially launched at Government House in Hobart earlier this month with an evening of music hosted by Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency the Honourable Barbar Baker AC, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers AO.
Guests were treated to a performance by TSO Principal Cellist, Jonathan Békés (pictured below), who performed the dynamic and virtuosic contemporary piece Julie-O by Mark Summer.
