Koori Mail | Singing in Language

The first concert and album to be performed entirely in Palawa Kani, Songs of Ceremony, will soon be released by Dewayne Everettsmith, with support from song women of Lutruwita and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

As photojournalist Jillian Mundy writes in Koori Mail, the project is as deeply personal as it is ground-breaking for the man at its heart, Palawa and Gunai Kurnai singer-songwriter Dewayne Everettsmith.

Koori Mail recently spent an afternoon in the studio with Everettsmith and Palawa singer-songwriter Aunty Cheryl Mundy Tremanya, for the last studio recording session for the upcoming album.
