Peter and the Wolf & other stories
Sergei Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf
Joe Twist The Flying Orchestra
Featuring conductor Eivind Aadland and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
A beloved fairy tale adventure comes to life.
A menacing wolf, animal friends and a brave young boy – Peter and the Wolf is a symphonic fairy tale adventure. Young Peter lives with his grandfather in the countryside. Despite his grandfather’s warning of a wolf on the prowl, Peter goes out into the meadow one day and encounters various animals, including the wolf! What will Peter do now!?
With its charming storytelling and clever use of music to represent characters and action, Peter and the Wolf is the perfect introduction for young children to the orchestra
Also on the program is The Flying Orchestra, a musical telling of the whimsical book by Australian children’s author Clare McFadden.
