Biber Battalia
Sdraulig Icarus, for solo piccolo and orchestra
Schubert Symphony No 5 in B flat, D 485

What happens when you fly to close to the sun? Hear music inspired by the tragic myth of Icarus, a rowdy piece that sounds like drunken sailors and a light and bubbly symphony by Schubert.

In collaboration with the University of Tasmania’s Inveresk campus, we’re bringing you a series of livestreamed concerts. It’s an accessible, relaxed way to experience the orchestra.

Icarus is part of our 6pm Series; hour-long concerts packed with interesting music and soloists with witty banter and insights from host and TSO violist, Will Newbery.
