Livestream Event | Concerto for Classical Accordion

Thursday 1 Oct 2026 6pm
The Makers Technology and Innovation Hub, Parklands

Copland Appalachian Spring: Suite
Holly Harrison Concerto for Classical Accordion^
Piazzolla Libertango
^Commissioned for the TSO by Penny Le Couteur, Greg Dickson and an anonymous donor.

Outrageously talented James Crabb flexes and stretches his accordion across the musical spectrum. There’s a flirty tango piece, and a less-expected funk/rock work written by fresh Aussie talent Holly Harrison.

In collaboration with the University of Tasmania’s Burnie campus, we’re bringing you a series of livestreamed concerts. It’s an accessible, relaxed way to experience the orchestra.

Concerto for Classical Accordion is part of our 6pm Series – hour-long concerts packed with interesting music and soloists, with banter and insights from host and TSO musician, Will Newbery.
