Klearhos Murphy

2026-27 Australian Composers School Participant

About Klearhos

Greek-Australian composer Klearhos Murphy specialises in composing and arranging music for symphonic and chamber music settings, drawing from western art, Byzantine chant and Greek-folk traditions.

He has worked with national and international ensembles such as the Melbourne, West Australian and Perth symphony orchestras, the Vienna Pops Orchestra and Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.

In 2017, Klearhos won the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra Composition Competition, and in 2018, he participated in the West Australian Symphony Orechestra Composition Project, winning the Bendat Family Foundation scholarship.

Klearhos is one of four talented composers selected for the 2026-27 Australian Composers School cohort.
