About Ben
As well as an award-winning composer whose works are performed worldwide, Ben Hoadley is also principal bassoonist with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.
He appears as guest principal with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and many others.
Overseas, Ben has played with orchestras including the Boston Symphony and Trondheim Symphony (Norway), Hallé (UK), Hong Kong Philharmonic and Malaysian Philharmonic.
Ben teaches at the Australian National University School of Music, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Australian National Academy (ANAM).
His works are performed worldwide.
Ben is one of four talented composers selected for the 2026-27 Australian Composers School cohort.
