Covid-19 framework

Safety at concerts

The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra is committed to creating an environment that is safe for all concert-goers. Below is our Covid-19 Framework, updated in April 2026.

Face masks

Patrons, box office staff and front-of-house staff are not required to wear face masks at TSO concerts. That said, we acknowledge that mask wearing is a personal choice.

Hand sanitiser

Concert-goers are encouraged to make use of hand sanitiser, available at various stations around the concert venue, including the Box Office counter.

Paperless tickets

Our Mobile ticket option allows you to reduce physical touchpoints at concerts, minimising the risk of spreading Covid-19.

At the time of booking, choose the option ‘Mobile tickets’ and your tickets will be emailed to you 7 days prior to the performance. You can add the Mobile ticket/s to the wallet on your smartphone or simply show the email to our ushers on the night.

Precautions

If you are a close contact of someone with Covid-19, please consider government recommendations and take a rapid test the day of the concert to ensure you test negative, and consider wearing a mask if you choose to attend the concert.

Please stay home if:

  • You are sick or have cold-like symptoms (such as fever, a sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting).
  • You have been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a government agency or a health professional.
  • You are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test.
If you cannot attend a concert due to Covid-19

Concert tickets are not refundable, but we are happy to swap your tickets for another performance if you are unwell or a close contact of someone with Covid-19.

Contact the TSO Box Office no later than one hour before the start of the concert on 1800 001 190 (Monday-Friday 10am-4pm).

If you have purchased a concert package, you are entitled to the subscriber benefit of a Second Chance Ticket, allowing you to attend another concert for free if you miss an event.
