Open rehearsals are a great opportunity for secondary school students to see the rehearsal process of a professional orchestra in real time. Your students will see and hear how a piece of music is shaped and polished ahead of a performance and how the conductor and the musicians work together.
These sessions are held in Federation Concert Hall and include a welcome briefing about the work they will hear, and a What To Look For worksheet to help your students get the most out of the experience. This is a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity for budding musicians, conductors, production and lighting staff or anyone wanting to work in the arts!
Each open rehearsal lasts a maximum of 2.5 hours, with a 20 minute break. End times are at the discretion of the conductor on the day.
