Welcome to your Season 2025

14 February 2025.

Join us for the official opening of our Season 2025 on 1 March with Brahms's Violin Concerto performed by one of the greatest violinists in the world, Canadian virtuoso James Ehnes.

In this epic season opener, Ehnes reunites with TSO Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Eivind Aadland, who will direct the soloist and orchestra in this brilliant and monumental concerto.

Rare chance to see our Chief Conductor outside the concert hall

After this first concert of our Federation Concert Hall series, Eivind will hit the road with TSO Strings, performing in Sorell and Kingston. He returns to Hobart on 13 March for our first 6pm concert for the year, followed by Brass in St David's on 21 March.

'I am so looking forward to bringing the orchestra to the communities of Kingston and Sorell,' Eivind says. 'We have an incredible orchestra in Tasmania and I hope that this year more people than ever get to experience it, whether that is in the concert hall or one of the many fantastic venues we have around the state.'

Eivind will also conduct our second Federation Concert Hall event for the year, Four Last Songs on 29 March. Experience Richard Strauss’s poignant and profound final songs performed by the TSO with members of the Australian National Academy of Music and Australian soprano Siobhan Stagg.

Our musicians have already been busy throughout February, performing two sold-out shows - Symphony on the Waterfront in Devonport and our first Obscura concert for the year, starring ARIA award winning oud performer Joseph Tawadros.
