Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770 in Bonn, Germany, which at that time was part of the Holy Roman Empire. Beethoven died in 1827 in Vienna, Austria. His childhood was very unhappy and by the age of 14, Beethoven was the sole provider for his family. Beethoven started to experience hearing loss in his twenties and by age 46 he was completely deaf.
Beethoven is regarded as a musical genius and he is credited with ushering in the Romantic era of classical music with his passionate and expressive writing. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 is regarded as a little odd, as there is no sign of the emotional turmoil he was experiencing in his personal life at the time he composed the symphony in 1812. Allegro vivace is the fourth and final movement of the symphony.
