The four-piece Overland Ensemble brings you an enticing mix of original music for brass and arrangements tailor-made for brass quartet. Rossini’s madcap Overture to The Barber Seville gets the concert off to a breezy start and Gershwin’s A Portrait – which might better be described as Gershwin’s Greatest Hits – brings proceedings to a jazzy close. In between, enjoy the sultry swing of Steven Verhelst’s Angel’s Tango, three songs by Debussy and original music by the supremely talented Tim Jones, living legend of the Tasmanian brass world.
