Strauss Horn Concerto

Victorian Opera and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra return to Launceston’s Princess Theatre with a heart-warming and hilarious new semi-staged production of Rossini’s classic opera buffa La Cenerentola. Angelina, known as Cenerentola, lives with a generous spirit despite the cruelty of her stepsisters, Clorinda and Tisbe, and stepfather Don Magnifico. As Prince Ramiro searches for a wife, he cunningly uncovers everyone’s true nature – cue disguises, hijinks and romance. Beyond the belly laughs, the essence of La Cenerentola is a parable of love and forgiveness. Following their enormously fun production of The Barber of Seville, maestro Richard Mills and director Elizabeth Hill-Cooper present another of Rossini’s greatest works for a joyous night at the opera.
