Strauss Horn Concerto

We honour one of our own in this concert. Emma McGrath, TSO Concertmaster, steps into the spotlight and gives the world première of the Violin Concerto by Melbourne-based composer and musical supremo Joe Chindamo. Emma’s recent solo performances have been hailed in the music press as ‘exceptional’ and ‘exquisite’ so you’re in for a memorable night!

The concert commences with Kodály’s spicy Dances of Marosszek – based upon folk tunes from remote regions of Transylvania – and closes with the most consistently upbeat of all of Beethoven’s symphonies, the exuberant Symphony No 7. Breathing life into old favourites and the brand-new concerto is conductor Otto Tausk.
