Presented by the TSO in partnership with the UTAS Conservatorium
The ACO conducts String Workshops during their national tours each year. Students become part of the ACO for a morning, learning rehearsal and performance techniques and playing alongside ACO musicians.
The TSO, in partnership with the UTAS Conservatorium, is thrilled to present this workshop in Hobart as an extension activity for advanced Tasmanian string students. The workshop is free of charge and runs for three hours.
Curriculum-linked professional development resources based on rehearsal leadership and techniques are provided for teachers to support the workshop. Teachers are invited to observe the workshop and talk with our musicians afterwards. String workshops are extension activities for advanced string students.

Each year the TSO invites members of the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra to join them onstage for an intense day of side-by-side rehearsing. In 2018 aspiring student musicians will be mentored by members of the TSO as they prepare a program of orchestral masterworks under the baton of TSO Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Marko Letonja.
