What time does the concert begin/end?
Gates will open at 3.30pm. Music starts at 7pm and will end at approximately 9.15pm.
Do I need a ticket?
Yes. The event is free of charge but tickets are required. A maximum of 10 tickets can be obtained in one transaction.
Tickets are available online at tso.com.au. When you order your ticket online, you will have the delivery option to “Print-at-home”. Print-at-home tickets can either be presented as hard copies at the gate or displayed on a phone with the QR code clearly visible.
Tickets can also be obtained from the TSO Box Office, open Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm (1800 001 190).
Why do I need a ticket this year?
We have introduced ticketing in order to accurately measure attendance at the event. This enables us to provide adequate facilities, manage our safety measures and to better communicate with our audience. RACT Symphony under the Stars will remain a FREE event.
How do I enter the Park?
The only entry point to City Park will be the gate on Cimitiere Street (next to the Public Toilets).
Gates will open at 3.30pm.
Is parking available close to the venue & what is the best way to get to and from the event?
There is no event parking available at City Park and street parking will be limited. Cimitiere Street will be closed until 10pm on Saturday 23 February.
Can I bring food and drink to the event?
Please do! Feel free to bring along a picnic and drinks (alcohol is permitted).
Food and cold drinks (including beer and wine) will be available from the barbecue stall operated by the Launceston Rotary Club, with proceeds going to Rotary projects.
Tea and coffee will be available from Victorias on the Park coffee carts situated around the park.
Please note that metal cutlery and glassware is not permitted.
Will drinking water be available?
Yes, there will be access to drinking water (and sunscreen!) at the Park.
What toilets are on site?
Extensive portable toilets facilities will be available. The public toilets will also be open.
Is it safe for children to attend?
Certainly! RACT Symphony under the Stars is a family-friendly event and suitable for even the youngest of family members.
Can I bring my dog?
No pets are allowed at RACT Symphony under the Stars, only accredited assistance animals such as Guide Dogs.
Can I bring a shade tent / chairs?
Feel free to bring your picnic blanket, beanbag, cushion or a camp chair. No marquees or tents are allowed.
Low-line camp chairs are encouraged. Tall chairs are only permitted in allocated areas – members of the Rotary Club will direct you on arrival.
What if it rains?
A decision on the weather conditions will be made on the morning of the event. If the event is cancelled, it will be publicised on the TSO website, TSO Facebook page and via ABC local radio.
