Tasmanian composer Don Kay displays his story-telling skills in this wide-ranging concert. Featuring acclaimed operatic singers Samuel Dundas and Lisa Crosato and pianist Amanda Hodder.
The concert begins with seven short songs based on poems of the 16th and 21st centuries, followed by the premiere of Kay’s Piano Sonata 11, composed in the depths of Covid.
To conclude, Kay’s musical rendering of the lovelorn lyrics of John Honey, exploring romantic love in various guises: lost and lasting, unrequited and fantastical.
This event is presented by Don Kay and John Honey in association with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
