Bass Baritone

Andrew Collis was a member of the Cologne Opera for 14 years, and has also performed with opera companies in Berlin, Frankfurt, Essen, Mannheim, Dortmund, Wiesbaden and Düsseldorf. He participated in the award-winning EMI recording of Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg with James Conlon.Other international performances have included appearances at the Vienna Festival in Luigi Nono’s Intolleranza, the Hong Kong Festival in Tosca and A Masked Ball, Colline (La bohème) and Hobson (Peter Grimes) for San Diego Opera, and the Lyric Opera of Singapore’s production of The Magic Flute. Recent performances include Colline, St Matthew Passion, Monterone (Rigoletto), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Lodovico (Otello), Ashby (The Girl of the Golden West), Angelotti (Tosca), Banquo (Macbeth) and Zuniga (Carmen) for Opera Queensland; Messiah for the Queensland and New Zealand symphony orchestras; Dr Grenvil (La traviata) and the title role in The Marriage of Figaro for the Brisbane Festival; Mars (Orpheus in the Underworld)and Count Rodolfo (La sonnambula)for State Opera of South Australia; Kissinger (Nixon in China),Nick Shadow (The Rake’s Progress) and Figaro for Victorian Opera; Count Rodolfo, Sparafucile and Monterone (Rigoletto) for West Australian Opera; Speaker (The Magic Flute) for Opera Australia; and St Matthew Passion with the Melbourne Bach Choir and St John Passion with Trinity College Choir/University of Melbourne.
