Throughout the year, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra collaborates with a great variety of organisations. Collaborations are an effective way of bringing to fruition projects which for a range of reasons – whether because of limited funding, insufficient resources or impractical logistics – would be beyond the reach of a single company. That is to say, collaborations make the impossible possible. Collaborations are mutually beneficial. They broaden the scope of the participating organisations and develop the artistry and skills of all those involved. They foster a spirit of cooperation and build relationships, bringing long-term benefits. Last but by no means least, audiences profit from collaborations. Audiences are given access to repertoire and experiences which would otherwise be denied them. And building audiences is fundamentally important to all arts organisations.
