A Tasmanian Icon, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra presents highest quality orchestral performances to the Tasmanian public on a regular basis. 2008 marks our 60th anniversary, and to celebrate we are planning a range of concerts in a variety of locations.
PRINCIPAL THIRD HORN
Salary $57,908 61,298 (plus superannuation and allowances)
Audition dates: Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 July 2008
Requirements: 1st movement of Mozart horn concerto No. 2
PLUS 1st and 2nd movement of Strauss horn concerto No. 1
PLUS orchestral excerpts, available from Monday 16 June

RANK AND FILE VIOLA
Salary $43,669 $55,197 (plus superannuation and allowances)
Audition date: Monday 11 August 2008
Requirements: 1st movement of the Stamitz, Hoffmeister, Bartók OR Walton viola concerto (without cadenza)
PLUS an accompanied, contrasting piece of your own choice
PLUS orchestral excerpts, available from Monday 14 July
Applications close: Monday 28 July
For all auditions, set pieces must be performed with piano accompaniment. Applicants must plan to be available for both whole days when applicable. Auditions are restricted to permanent Australian residents and citizens of New Zealand
