Hailed by critics and audiences in Europe and throughout the world, Marko Lentonja steps up to the podium as the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s new Chief Conductor and Artistic Director. Hear what the rest of the world has been raving about at this special season opener. Enjoy Tchaikovsky’s mighty Piano Concerto No 1 performed by dazzling soloist Alexander Gavrylyuk, highlights from Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet and Peter Sculthorpe’s Kakadu, one of the best-loved works by Tasmania’s favourite musical son.
