About the Program

A match made in heaven – one of the most beautiful violin concertos ever written performed by Tasmin Little, one of the world’s most esteemed violinists. Further violin pleasures are in store in Vaughan Williams’ ethereal The Lark Ascending. Blitz, a much anticipated new work by Andrew Ford, is a powerful and haunting meditation on the experience of war from the perspective of those who lived through it as children. Spoken recorded accounts from witnesses to the aerial bombing in World War II are combined with live music for orchestra and chorus. Be part of the audience at the première of this poignant and important new work.
